Self-Improvement doesn’t have to be a solo journey.

Our mission is to redefine growth and connection, leveraging AI and human wisdom to create a uniquely individualized, yet social self-improvement journey.

WHY WE BUILT PEARL

We know what it’s like to feel lost, lonely, and uncertain about your path in life and through our experience teaching, advising, and mentoring others, we’ve seen countless others face these same challenges. In fact, 80% of adults in the U.S. struggle to navigate their personal and professional lives at some point.

Yet, despite this widespread desire for guidance and self-improvement, current solutions are often fragmented, expensive, and lack the genuine support and real-world insight needed for meaningful growth.

That's why we created Pearl. By integrating AI technology with authentic human insight, Pearl offers a space where people can connect, learn, and grow together. We believe that with the right tools and a supportive community, everyone can navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence.

OUR TEAM

Marc Fernandez

   Co-founder, CEO

Marc began his career as a physicist before finding his true passion as a tech entrepreneur focused on building transformative technologies and products that address real human needs. Along the way, he co-founded and successfully exited two tech companies, which eventually led him to become a professor at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. There, he delved into the intersection of human engagement and emerging technologies such as AI & machine learning and their role in recognizing the untapped potential of digital platforms as tools for personal development.

His recent role as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Alive Ventures was where he met his future co-founder and found the inspiration to launch Pearl, combining his expertise in tech innovation with his commitment to creating meaningful impact.

Lauren Miranda

   Co-founder, COO, CCO

Lauren’s background is deeply rooted in cultural anthropology, with over 12 years dedicated to social impact and community development. Her work as a university advisor at Stanford and Loyola University Chicago, along with her experience leading global strategy for Wikipedia communities, fueled her passion for knowledge sharing and building meaningful connections.

While leading the older adult community at a startup studio called Alive Ventures, she was profoundly influenced by the wisdom and transformative experiences of others. These insights sparked a realization that the knowledge gained through lived experiences should not be lost, but harnessed and shared to empower others.

As the cofounder of Pearl, she's on a mission to make the rich tapestry of one’s lived experiences accessible to all, providing a valuable source of guidance and inspiration.
